Beaulieu, the historic “Limousine Riviera” where life is good

Located in New Aquitaine, in Corrèze, discover Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, a medieval city surrounded by nature. This village is characterized by historical monuments in the heart of a wooded and flowered landscape where the river flows. The name of Beaulieu has its history; It was in the Middle Ages that Rodolphe de Turenne was seduced by the small village of fishermen and breeders then called Vellinus. It was then that he decided to found "his" Abbey there and to "rename"the village Bellus Locus (Beau Lieu). This village is now nicknamed "La Riviera Limousine" to thanks to the mildness of its climate, which is conducive to the cultivation of strawberries.

Dordogne Valley, UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

The Dordogne Valley has an exceptional heritage that you can enjoy during your stay. Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is, in fact, one of the highlights of this heritage thanks to its famous "gabarres" (wooden boats for navigating the river), its chapel of the Penitents, its Renaissance house or still its Saint-Pierre Abbey.
